EFT involves tapping with your hands on specific acupuncture points whilst focusing thoughts on emotions that need addressing or healing.

It is easy to learn and it is such an effective tool for releasing all sorts of negative emotion, current or repressed.

EFT is so handy because, once learnt, you can do it yourself, anywhere, anytime. Many psychologists now teach this technique.

What is life coaching and how can it help?

Coaching is all about finding out where a client is in their lives, where they want to be and how they are going to get there (i.e. to facilitate identifying and achieving certain goals).

They use a variety of different tools and techniques including questioning techniques, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (which uses techniques such as affirmations, hypnosis and visualisation). Coaches are facilitators, not advisors nor experts in the client’s field.

Coaching focuses on the present and the future. It does not focus on examining or diagnosing the past (this is the job of a psychologist or counsellor)

Coaching can be really handy if you are having problems identifying goals in your life, if you seem to self sabotage achieving your goals or if you need extra direction and motivation to achieve your goals.

Coaches deal with many aspects including career planning and development, health, lifestyle and self care, financial, time management, stress management… the list goes on!

How to find a life coach?

Life Coaching is a fast growing but largely unregulated industry at the moment. Always check the credentials of any coach you choose to work with and ask questions (do they specialize, what is their experience, are they part of a professional body etc).

Finding a Life coach that is part of a professional body is preferred but I also believe that one of the best ways to find a suitable coach is through referral from a friend or professional.
